Samsung Galaxy A20 Spotted on FCC Website, Features a 6.39-inch Display

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A20 budget Android smartphone, which bagged Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certification last month, has now made an appearance at the US FCC. The smartphone’s FCC appearance suggests it may be launched very soon.

Samsung Galaxy A20 Will Have a 6.39-inch Display

As is usually the case, the SM-A205GN and SM-A205FN FCC filings do not confirm any key hardware specification of the upcoming smartphone. However, the FCC filings do tell us that the smartphone will be bundled with a 15W fast charger in the box. Out of the three new Galaxy A-series smartphones launched by Samsung recently, only the Galaxy A10 lacks fast charging support. However, it should be noted that Samsung is also working on an Android Go version of the Galaxy A20. Unlike the regular variant, we do not expect the Android Go variant of the smartphone to offer fast charging support.

Apart from fast charging, the FCC filings also reveal the device dimensions. The Galaxy A20 is listed to measure 158.3 x 74.6mm with a display diagonal of 162.4mm or 6.39-inches. What remains to be seen is if the Galaxy A20 will feature a Super AMOLED display or if Samsung will stick to a PLS LCD panel for the budget device.

Going by previous Geekbench listings, we expect the Galaxy A20 to be powered by a 14nm Exynos 7904 octa-core processor, clubbed with 3GB of RAM. Some of its other rumored features include dual rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Android Go variant of the handset is expected to come with an Exynos 7870 chipset and just 1GB of RAM. Similar to the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 smartphones, we expect the Galaxy A20 to have a 4000mAh capacity battery. Since the Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A30 smartphones have been priced slightly higher than their Galaxy M-series siblings, we expect the Galaxy A20 to be priced just a little higher than the Galaxy M20.
