Samsung Galaxy A20s Schematics on FCC Show 4000mAh Battery, Triple Camera, and More

On: September 5, 2019

After the Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s launch, Samsung looks to be readying for a younger sibling in the series – the Galaxy A20s. The handset has been spotted on the Federal Communications Commissions today confirming quite a few details about the handset. The new refresh of the Galaxy A20 handset was previously seen at the Wi-Fi Alliance with the model number SM-A207F/DS while the FCC model has a slightly different SM-A207M/DS number.

Getting to specifics, the Galaxy A20s dimensions have been revealed as 163.21mm x 77.52mm while the overall diagonal is 180.8mm. It also reveals the battery size to be 4,000mAh and it remains unchanged from the Galaxy A20. Thankfully, this is as opposed to earlier leaks that claimed a 3,000mAh battery which would actually be a downgrade from the Galaxy A20. The backplate that has appeared also shows a likely triple camera setup along with a fingerprint reader on the rear.

Drawing information from a previous TENAA encounter, the SM-A2070 (Galaxy A20s) has been spotted with a 6.49-inch display and a couple of images showed a teardrop notch design, in other words, an Infinity-V Display. If TENAA’s certification is to be believed, the handset has black and blue colour options. There are still a number of blanks left to fill in the spec-sheet, notably the processor and the kind of triple camera sensors. It is believed that the handset will have the same CPU as the Galaxy A20 which is the 1.6GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 7884 SoC. It is expected that there could be a top-end 4GB +64GB version apart from other storage variants.

The Galaxy A20s runs on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G LTE, Bluetooth V4.2, USB charging port and a 3.5mm AUX port. Judging from its appearance on so many certification portals, we’re expecting the handset to launch soon.
