Samsung Galaxy A21s with macro camera reportedly in the works

Last year, Samsung launched three Galaxy A20 series smartphones called the Galaxy A20, Galaxy A20s, and Galaxy A20e. Now the company is working on the successors to these devices. In December, some case renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A21 were leaked on the interwebs. Now, a report by SamMobile suggests that while the Galaxy A21 is yet to go official, there’s another model in the series is in the works as well. As per the source, Samsung is working on the Galaxy A21s smartphone. The report has also revealed a few specifications of the upcoming Galaxy A21s.

According to the source, the Samsung Galaxy A21s is in the pipeline under the model number SM-A217F. The phone is tipped to be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. The smartphone is said to come in four colour options including Blue, Black, White, and Red. Lastly, the report indicates that the Galaxy A21s will feature a 2-megapixel macro camera. Notably, the recently launched Galaxy A series handsets called the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 also arrived with a macro lens. Unfortunately, no other details about the Galaxy A21s are available at the moment.

Talking about its predecessor, the Galaxy A20, the phone arrived as a budget offering with a dual primary camera setup at the rear, a tall aspect ratio, and a beefy battery. The handset has a waterdrop notch above the screen and a fingerprint sensor at the rear. The device has a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,560 pixels. Under the hood, the device has an Exynos 7884 octa-core processor, which is aided by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage.

As for the other specs, the Samsung Galaxy A20 has a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens on the back, which is aided by a 5-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has an 8-megapixel camera. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and A-GPS. Software-wise, it boots Android 9 Pie with One UI on top. Lastly, a 4,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support keeps the whole package running. The phone is available in the country for around Rs 11,500.
