Samsung has marked its presence at the Mobile World Congress this year with two budget offerings. The Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 carry Infinity-U display panels which means that they have a waterdrop style notch. Both the offerings have a 4,000mAh battery but the fingerprint sensors differ. The Galaxy A50 carries an in-display fingerprint reader while the Galaxy A30 has a physical reader placed on the back.
Samsung Galaxy A50: specifications and features
The Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The device has an in-display fingerprint sensor, a waterdrop style notch and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The Galaxy A50 runs on the Samsung Exynos 9610 octa-core processor and there are two variants for the device – 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The internal storage of the phone can be expanded via microSD card by up to 512GB.
Camera-wise, the Galaxy A50 carries a triple rear camera setup with 25MP + 5MP +8MP sensors, where the first is the main camera, the second is a depth sensor and the third is an ultra wide-angle lens. The selfie camera on the phone contains a 25MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The primary rear camera of the phone has a Live Focus feature, AI Camera and a Scene Optimiser feature to recognise and optimise 20 scenes. Flaw Detection is another feature which helps in taking enhanced portrait mode shots, while Bixby Vision acts as Google Lens to aid shopping and other experiences. One can also take a portrait mode shot with the front camera with the Selfie Blur feature.
The phone has a 4,000mAh battery and supports 15W Fast Charging. It will be available in four colours – Black, Blue, Coral and White.
Samsung Galaxy A30: specifications and features
The Samsung Galaxy A30 has a similar 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display panel with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The display has a waterdrop style notch and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This device runs on the Exynos 7604 octa-core processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of ROM. The latter can be expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The camera performance of the phone is handled by a dual rear setup with 16MP + 5MP sensors where the first is the main lens and the other is an ultra-wide lens. The selfie snapper on the device has a 16MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The phone also has features like Bixby Home, Bixby Reminder, Samsung Health and Samsung Pay. It has a 4,000mAh battery as well with support for 15W Fast Charging. The phone comes in three shades – Black, Blue and White.
