After several leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A31 smartphone has finally gone official. It is the third 2020 Galaxy A-series smartphone after the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 that were made official in December 2019. The Galaxy A31 has arrived as the successor to the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A30s smartphones from last year. The Galaxy A31 features an Infinity-U notch display design that promises a high screen-to-body ratio. The handset features a rectangular camera module that houses four cameras. It is backed by a larger battery compared to its predecessors.

The Samsung Galaxy A31 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It offers a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader.
Samsung did not confirm the name of the processor that powers the Galaxy A31. Rumours had claimed that it is driven by the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset. The Galaxy A31 comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, and 64GB and 128GB storage options. A microSD card slot is available on the device for additional storage.
Android 10 overlaid with One UI 2.0 comes preloaded on the Galaxy A31 phone. The notch houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera module includes a 48-megapixel primary shooter, 123-degree 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel macro lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The Galaxy A31 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The handset supports 15W fast charging through USB-C.

Samsung is yet to confirm on the pricing and availability of the Galaxy A31. The phone will be available in four colours such as Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush White.
