Samsung Galaxy A40 Passes Wi-Fi Certification, Expected to Launch Soon

The Wi-Fi Alliance had certified the Samsung Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A20 smartphones last month. While the Samsung Galaxy A10 was launched in India last week, the Galaxy A20 is expected to launch soon. The Wi-Fi Alliance has now certified another upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy A40.

Samsung Galaxy A40 Launch Imminent?

The Wi-Fi Alliance has granted certification to the SM-A405FN/DS variant of the upcoming Galaxy A40. Apart from confirming that the handset will support dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, the certification also confirms that it will launch with the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. Just like the already launched Galaxy A-series models, the Galaxy A40 will have Samsung’s new One UI layer running on top of Android Pie.

A recent report by MySmartPrice had claimed the Galaxy A40 will be priced at €249 in most of Europe. The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.4-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. In terms of performance, the Galaxy A40 is likely to be more or less identical to the Galaxy A30. The smartphone had previously popped up on the Geekbench database running on an Exynos 7885 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Since the Galaxy A30 was also caught on Geekbench with the same chipset a few weeks before its launch, we can expect the Galaxy A40 to be powered by an Exynos 7904 14nm chipset. Apart from the Galaxy A30, the new Exynos 7904 SoC also powers the Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30 smartphones. The rest of its key specifications have not been revealed just yet.

Since the smartphone has now bagged Wi-Fi certification, we can expect Samsung to officially introduce the Galaxy A40 soon. Along with the Galaxy A40, Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A60 in the coming weeks.
