A month ago, Samsung had announced the Galaxy A42 5G without revealing many details. Now, the South Korean brand has shared an infographic of the Galaxy A42 5G confirming the smartphone’s specifications. The infographic was first spotted by SamMobile.
The Galaxy A42 5G is the fourth smartphone in the Galaxy A-series to come with 5G connectivity after the Galaxy A90 5G, Galaxy A51 5G and A71 5G. The smartphone is also the cheapest 5G offering from Samsung. The device comes as the successor to the Galaxy A41 with a bigger battery and more storage capacity. Samsung Galaxy A42 5G specifications and features
The Galaxy A42 5G sports an Infinity-U Super AMOLED display measuring 6.6-inches with an HD+ resolution. It is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The back panel houses a square-shaped camera module and features four different patterned colour segments.
The Galaxy A42 5G comes with a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP depth and 5MP macro shooter. The device features a 20MP front-facing camera.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy A42 5G is powered by an unspecified octa-core SoC, which is likely to be the Snapdragon 750G based on the processor’s clock speeds. The smartphone is offered in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations paired with 128GB internal storage.
There is a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion up to 1TB. The Galaxy A42 5G is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 15W fast charging. The connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and USB Type-C.

The Galaxy A42 5G is offered in Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White and Prism Dot Gray colours. Samsung hasn’t announced the Galaxy A42 5G’s release date yet. However, Samsung Germany has already revealed that the smartphone will retail at €369 (~Rs 31,785) when it goes on sale in November in Europe.
