Update (January 19, 2019): Yet another variant of the Samsung Galaxy A50 has been leaked online on Geekbench. This time, the SM-A505FM variant of the smartphone has surfaced on the Geekbench database. The SM-A505FM variant features 4GB of RAM as opposed to the SM-A505GN variant, which includes 6GB of RAM. It achieved a single-core score of 1,719 points and a multi-core score of 4,325 points on Geekbench. While the single-core score is slightly higher than the 6GB RAM variant, the multi-core score is lower.

Last month, the SM-A505FN variant of the upcoming Galaxy A50 had made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmark database. Another variant of the upcoming smartphone has now been spotted on the Geekbench database, this time with higher RAM.

SM-A505GN Variant to Pack 6GB of RAM

Unlike the SM-A505FN variant, the SM-A505GN variant of the Samsung Galaxy A50 packs a more impressive 6GB of RAM. This means the Galaxy A50 will be available in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants at launch. As for storage, it is rumored that the Galaxy A50 will be offered in 64GB and 128GB storage options. Moving on to the benchmark scores, the SM-A505GN variant achieved a score of 1,693 in the single-core and 5,031 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. While the single-core score is nearly identical to the 4GB RAM variant, the 6GB RAM variant scored slightly higher in the multi-core test. As for software, the smartphone is running on the Android 9 Pie operating system. We can expect it to debut with Android Pie-based One UI at launch.

Galaxy A50 SM-A505GN Geekbench Listing

The Samsung Galaxy A50 will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9610 octa-core processor, as confirmed by the two Geekbench listings. While the display size remains a mystery at this point, a few recent leaks have suggested the Galaxy A50 and other upcoming Galaxy A series smartphones will be equipped with an In-display fingerprint sensor. In the camera department, some rumors claim the Galaxy A50 will feature a dual-camera setup on the back, with a 24MP resolution primary snapper. However, there is also a possibility of it featuring a triple-camera setup similar to the Galaxy A7 (2018). In the battery life department, Galaxy A50 is tipped to pack a massive 4000mAh capacity battery, which should allow it to deliver significantly improved battery life when compared to last year’s Galaxy A-series models. While no launch timeframe has been confirmed yet, we can expect the Galaxy A50 to be made official sometime in the second quarter of the year.
