Samsung‘s upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A51, has been in the news for the last few weeks. The successor to the Galaxy A50s, the Galaxy A51 is expected to launch early next year. The phone won’t be a major upgrade over the Galaxy A50s in terms of specs, but will pack in some significant design changes. A spate of recent leaks have revealed several specifications of the Galaxy A51, and we also know that Samsung has begun production of the device at its manufacturing facility at Greater Noida in India. Now, we’re bringing you exclusive 5K renders and a 360-degree video of the Samsung Galaxy A51, in partnership with notable tipster OnLeaks. Here’s what you can expect from Samsung’s next mid-range A-series device.
Samsung Galaxy A51 renders
Looking at the renders above, you can see that the Galaxy A51 will feature a flat display with a punch-hole camera located at top-centre. This design was also seen on Samsung’s Note 10 series of flagships, and now looks to be trickling down to the brand’s mid-range handsets. We can confirm that the display measures 6.5-inches, while the overall dimensions of the phone are 158.4 x 73.7 x 7.9mm, with the thickness extending to 8.5mm around the camera bump.
Speaking of the bump, the rear cameras are placed in a rectangular module on the top-left corner of the back panel. There are four cameras in total, and these are placed in an L-shaped array – three cameras are stacked vertically, while a fourth is placed to their right along with an LED flash. The back panel features curved edges, along with Samsung branding in the centre. There’s no physical fingerprint sensor on the device, so we can assume the Galaxy A51 will feature an in-display scanner just like the Galaxy A50s.
As for the ports and buttons, the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge, while the ejectable SIM card tray is on the left. The bottom edge reveals a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and a loudspeaker grill.
Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications and features (rumoured)
A few specifications of the Galaxy A51 were recently leaked by another reliable tipster, Ishan Agarwal. The leak mentions that the Galaxy A51 will feature a 6.5-inch display, in line with OnLeaks’ information, and adds that it will be a Super AMOLED panel. The phone will feature a 4,000mAh battery, and will run One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. The primary camera will be a 48MP sensor, while the selfie camera will feature 32MP resolution. A separate leak suggested that the remaining cameras would include a 12MP wide-angle lens, 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 5MP depth sensor.
A previous Geekbench listing of the Galaxy A51 revealed that it will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9611 chipset (the same one found on the Galaxy A50s) and come with at least 4GB of RAM. Other tipped features include 64GB and 128GB storage options, and colour options like silver, black and blue. At this point, there’s not much else left to know about the Galaxy A51 except for the release date and price.
