Samsung Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event date announced, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 expected


  • Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 are expected to launch on March 17th 
  •  This will be the company’s second Unpacked event this year
  • The upcoming smartphones are expected to feature 90Hz refresh rates

Samsung is conducting a Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event on March 17th at 7.30pm IST. The event will be live streamed on Samsung Newsroom and the brand’s official YouTube channel.

The South Korean brand is teasing the upcoming event with the tagline ‘Awesome’ that is used for the Galaxy A lineup. Samsung is expected to launch the much anticipated mid-range Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones. Both the devices have been a part of multiple leaks and rumours in the past.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 will arrive as the successors to last year’s Galaxy A51 and A71. According to past leaks and rumours, the smartphones will come with centre-aligned punch-hole AMOLED displays and 90Hz refresh rates. The Galaxy A52 will feature a 6.5-inch screen while the A72 will have a slightly larger screen measuring 6.7-inches. 

In the photography department, the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 are expected to sport quad-rear cameras comprising of 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro and 5MP depth unit. Up front, the smartphones could come with a 32MP selfie snapper. 

Both the Galaxy A52 and A72 will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 720G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. The devices will also come with support for 25W fast charging, however, the Galaxy A52 is expected to be backed by a 4,500mAh battery while the A72 will run on a 5,000mAh battery. 

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy A52 and A52 in 5G and 4G variants. The 5G variants are expected to be powered by Snapdragon 750G SoC and come with 120Hz displays.
