Samsung today unveiled four new smartphones in India in its Galaxy A and Galaxy J series. All of them are affordable mid-segment smartphones in varying budgets. The newly launched models include: Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+, Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8. They all come with Android Oreo out of the box and will be available for purchase starting May 22. Some of the common features in these phones include the presence of an Infinity Display with a Super AMOLED screen and Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered cameras. You can get them in three colour options that includes Blue, Black and Gold.
Samsung Galaxy A6
The Samsung Galaxy A6 packs a 5.6-inch display with an HD+ resolution. As mentioned earlier, it is an Infinity Display with a Super AMOLED panel on top. The phone runs on a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7 series chipset. It is further coupled with 4GB of RAM for multi-tasking needs.
In terms of cameras, it has a 16-megapixel sensor on the rear which has an aperture of f/1.7. On the front, there is another 16-megapixel sensor which has got an aperture of f/1.9. Both the cameras are supported with an LED flash for better low-light pictures. The camera software in the phone offers features such as Live Bokeh mode and allows you to blur the background as well.
There are two variants of the phone in terms of storage, one with 32GB and another with 64GB of storage. The phone draws its power from a 3000mAh battery unit which should last you about a day on a full charge.
The Samsung Galaxy A6 starts at Rs. 21,990 for which you can get the 32GB variant whereas the 64GB model is priced at Rs. 22,990.
Samsung Galaxy A6+
The Samsung Galaxy A6+ rocks a 6-inch Super AMOLED display. It has a Full HD+ resolution and offers an immersive viewing experience. The phone’s performance is powered by an 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. It is paired with 4GB of RAM to complement the processor in multi-tasking.
The Galaxy A6+ has a dual rear camera setup that combines a 16-megapixel sensor along with a 5-megapixel one. The former has an aperture of f/1.7 whereas the latter one has an f/1.9 aperture. Both the front as well as the rear cameras are supported with an LED flash for low-light pictures.
As mentioned earlier, it runs on Android Oreo but is layered with Samsung Experience OS. There is a 3500mAh battery unit which is decent for a phone of this size and processing power.
The Samsung Galaxy A6+ is priced at Rs. 25,990 and it is available in just a single variant that comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
