Samsung Galaxy A70 with 6.7-inch Display and 32MP Front Camera Announced

On: March 26, 2019

Samsung has taken off covers from the Galaxy A70 smartphone. It’s the sixth A series phone to go official this year after the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A40 and Galaxy A50 smartphones. Compared to the recently-unveiled A series smartphones, the Galaxy A70 comes with some distinctive features such as a massive 6.7-inch display, a bigger battery and more powerful specs.

Samsung Galaxy A70 Specifications and Features

The 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display available on the Galaxy A70 offers a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The huge screen is surrounded by super-slim bezels and a slightly thick chin. Just like the A50, the smartphone comes with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

An unnamed octa-core chipset with two high-performance CPU cores and six power-efficient CPU cores drive the 6GB and 8GB RAM variants of the Galaxy A70. Both models include 128 GB of native storage and support for additional storage through a microSD card slot.

A big battery of 4,500mAh capacity with support for 25W superfast charging is available inside the Galaxy A70. The One UI based Android 9 Pie OS comes preinstalled on the device. Samsung Pay, Knox and Pass (uses the fingerprint scanner for signing into apps and websites) are also available on the A70.

Sitting inside the selfie notch on the front is a 32-megapixel snapper. The protruding triple-camera system on the rear of the phone features a 32-megapixel shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

Like the recent A series phones, the Galaxy A70 also features a “3D Glasstic” design, which is nothing but a polycarbonate material with a glossy finish. The phone is available in four colour options of Coral, Blue, Black and White.

Samsung Galaxy A70 Price and Release Date

Samsung is yet to confirm on the price of Galaxy A70. The South Korean company will be hosting an event on April 10th to announce new Galaxy A series phones. There is a possibility that the company may launch other phones in the series at the event along with revealing more details on the A70, including its price and availability.
