Samsung Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 get a permanent price cut in India

Earlier this year, Samsung had launched the Galaxy A51 and A71 in India starting at Rs 23,999. However, in April, due to the new GST rate, the prices of both smartphones were hiked by up to Rs 1,500. Now, according to a report by 91mobiles, the South Korean brand has permanently slashed the price of Galaxy A51 and A71 by up to Rs 2,000.

The revised prices are also reflected on Samsung’s website as well as Amazon and Flipkart. The Galaxy A71 is available in only an 8GB + 128GB configuration, while the A51 is offered in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants.

The Galaxy A71 and A51 share several specifications 

The Galaxy A71 8GB + 128GB now retails at Rs 30,999 instead of Rs 31,999. The price of Galaxy A51 6GB + 128GB variant is down to Rs 23,999 from Rs 25,250. The 8GB + 128GB model gets a Rs 2,000 price drop making it available for Rs 25,999 compared to the launch price of Rs 27,999. 

Samsung Galaxy A71 and A51 specifications and features

The Galaxy A71 and A51 are nearly identical in terms of specifications. Both smartphones feature an Infinity-O sAMOLED display bearing FHD+ resolution and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A71 has a slightly larger screen measuring 6.7-inches, compared to 6.5-inches on the A51. The devices are offered in Prism Crush Black, White and Blue colour options. 

The Galaxy A71 and A51 sport a quad-camera setup. The former features a 64MP main sensor while the latter comes with a 48MP primary unit. On both the devices, the main camera is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro shooter and a 5MP depth sensor. The centre-aligned punch-hole cutout on the front accommodates a 32MP selfie snapper. 

The Galaxy A71 is powered by a Snapdragon 730 processor, while the A51 is equipped with an Exynos 9611 chipset. Both devices pack up to 8GB RAM and 128GB native storage expandable via microSD card slot. The Galaxy A71 is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging while the A51 runs on a smaller 4,000mAh unit with 15W fast charging support. Both smartphones run Android 10 with OneUI 2.0 on top. 

Connectivity options on the Galaxy A71 and A51 include USB-C ports, dual-SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS.
