Yesterday, we reported that Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy A52 and A72 in mid-March in India. Both phones have received BIS certifications in India. Now, we have spotted the Samsung Galaxy A72 on Thailand’s NBTC website. It is listed with model number SM-A725F/DS.
Apart from the listing, the NBTC certification doesn’t reveal any key specifications of the Galaxy A72. It’s worth noting that as per previous reports, the smartphone could be only available in 4G version. All certifications of the Galaxy A72 so far have also only been for a 4G variant. Samsung is soon expected to debut the Galaxy A52 4G, Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72 as the successor’s to last year’s Galaxy A51 and A71.
Samsung Galaxy A72 specifications and features (expected)
German publication WinFuture.de leaked the renders and complete specifications of the Galaxy A72. The phone will feature an FHD+ sAMOLED display with a 6.7-inch screen and a centre-aligned punch-hole camera. The device is tipped to feature a 90Hz panel making it the first in Samsung’s mid-range portfolio to come with a high refresh rate.
The Galaxy A72 is expected to sport a rectangular camera module housing four sensors including a 64MP primary unit, 12MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro shooter and 5MP depth lens. It may come with a 32MP front-facing snapper.
Internally, the Galaxy A72 will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 720G processor. It will pack up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. The smartphone could be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 25W charging.
The Galaxy A72 could come with IP67 dust and water-resistant rating, a USB-C port, microSD card slot and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
The Samsung Galaxy A72 4G is expected to carry a starting price tag of €449 (~Rs 39,500) in Europe. We can expect the phone to launch anytime now, given the pace of leaks and certifications.
