Samsung Galaxy A80 with rotating triple camera module launched in India: price, specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A80 was launched back in April in Thailand as the world’s first phone to feature a triple rotating camera module. The smartphone was rumoured to go on sale in India in June, and now, has been launched in India a month later.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 has been launched in a single 8GB + 128GB configuration in the country. If you want to get your hands on one, you will have to pony up Rs 47,990. To sweeten the deal, the South Korean brand is offering a 5 percent cashback to users who purchase the phone through Citibank credit cards as part of the introductory offer.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 will go on sale in India starting August 1st and will be available via all retail stores, e-Shop, Samsung Opera House and all major online e-commerce websites. However, you can pre-order the device from July 22nd to July 31st. Those who pre-book the phone will be eligible for one-time screen replacement.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 ships with a 6.7-inch New Infinity sAMOLED display offering full HD+ screen resolution. There are practically no bezels all around except for an extremely slim chin. As for the performance, the handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, which is an 8nm octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.2GHz. Accompanying the chipset is Adreno 618 GPU, 8GB RAM and 128GB of user expandable storage. On the software side of things, the handset boots the latest OneUI based on the Android 9 Pie.

In the camera department, the triple camera module houses a 48-megapixel f/2.0 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide f/2.2 secondary lens, and a 3D ToF third sensor for depth-of-field. The module also moves up and flips backwards to become the front camera when you toggle the selfie mode, making it the most powerful selfie smartphone. To power the phone, Samsung has equipped it with a 3,700mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging.
