Samsung Galaxy Bloom will reportedly cost around Rs 1 lakh

Last February, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Fold as its first smartphone with a foldable screen. The successor of the Galaxy Fold has reportedly been in the works for the past several months. The South Korean tech giant is expected to introduce the device as the Samsung Galaxy Bloom at the Galaxy S20 series launch event on February 11th. Ahead of the launch, a photo of the Galaxy Bloom from a Samsung presentation was leaked. Various concept-based renders of the smartphone have also been circulating on the web for the past few weeks. Now, just a few weeks ahead of the launch, pricing details of the Samsung Galaxy Bloom have been leaked by a South Korean media outlet.

Samsung Galaxy Bloom will be more affordable than the Galaxy Fold

Citing information from industry sources, the South Korean publication INews24 reports that the Samsung Galaxy Bloom will be priced between 1 million won (~Rs 61,000) and 1.5 million won (~Rs 91,000). Notably, pricing of the smartphone will be significantly less than the Galaxy Fold, that costs a whopping $2,000 (~Rs 1.4 lakh) and the Motorola Razr that is priced at $1,500 (~Rs 1.06 lakh). The publication hasn’t provided any other information about the Galaxy Bloom at the moment.

The Galaxy Bloom’s display will fold vertically

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy Bloom will feature a clamshell design similar to the Motorola Razr. As per a report, Samsung CEO DJ Koh talked about the company’s design plans for the smartphone at a meeting. Koh explained that that design of the Galaxy Bloom will be inspired by the compact makeup powder from French cosmetics brand Lancôme. Notably, while the Galaxy Fold’s screen folds horizontally, the Galaxy Bloom’s display will fold vertically. Apart from a bigger display on the inside, the smartphone will also flaunt a small screen on the outside.

The leaked images indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Bloom will have a single selfie camera on the inside. On the outside, there will be two cameras with an LED flash unit. The handset is expected to feature either an in-display fingerprint sensor or a side-mounted one. Lastly, it can be speculated that the smartphone will flaunt top-notch features like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ or 865 SoC.
