Samsung’s Galaxy Book Flex and Ion are the first laptops with QLED displays and wireless charging touchpads

Samsung has launched the world’s first laptops with QLED displays at the ongoing Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2019. The Galaxy Book Flex and the Galaxy Book Ion offer greater portability and feature enhanced computing prowess. The QLED display panel was previously used by Samsung on its range of high-end televisions. Both laptops feature full HD resolution with an outdoor mode that offers a peak brightness of 600 nits.

Samsung has upgraded the battery pack on both laptops to meet the higher power demand of the QLED panels. Additionally, both laptops are tuned to be more power-efficient. Samsung offers Wireless PowerShare on the Galaxy Book Flex and Ion, which can charge Qi-enabled devices like the Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy S11 by placing them on the touchpad.
