Alongside the launch of the Galaxy S10 lineup, Samsung also announced wireless earbuds dubbed as the Galaxy Buds.
In terms of design, the Galaxy Buds resemble the Gear IconX. The earbuds come in a charging case in three colour options – Black, White, and Yellow. The case also comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and an LED charging indicator. The Galaxy Buds can also be wirelessly charged directly from the Galaxy S10 by placing them on the rear panel of the device.
The audio is tuned by AKG which is owned by Samsung and managed by Harman international. They feature enhanced ambient sound that lets you listen to your surroundings when the buds are in your ear, even while taking a call or listening to music. They feature two microphones – one inner ear and one outer ear – to deliver enhanced audio in noisy environments. While the earbuds feature a 58mAh battery, the charging case offers a 252mAh battery. Samsung says the Galaxy Buds offer up to 6 hours of Bluetooth streaming and up to 5 hours of phone calls. The bundled charging case offers a charge for up to 7 hours of usage, and can also boost the Buds with a quick 15-minute charge.
The Galaxy Buds feature Bluetooth 5.0, and are compatible with phones running Android 5.0 or later, which have at least 1.5GB of RAM. The Galaxy Buds can be availed for free for a limited period if you pre-order the Galaxy S10 or S10+. Samsung has priced the Galaxy Buds at $129.99, and they will be available in the US starting March 8th.
