Samsung Galaxy C8 Launched With Dual Cameras and 16MP Front Camera

Samsung launched its first dual camera phone, the Galaxy Note 8 and recently followed it up with the Galaxy J7+. Now, the South-Korean giant has come up with a new dual-camera smartphone – Galaxy C8. The phone was launched in China and no details about the pricing and availability has been announced yet. However, Samsung has revealed full specification and feature details about the phone.

Design and Display

Front portion of the phone houses a camera, flash and sensors on the top bezel whereas the bottom bezel has a physical button along with two capacitive navigation buttons. The physical home button also acts as the fingerprint scanner. The phone comes in three different colours: Black, Gold and Pink.

The Galaxy C8 comes with a display size spanning 5.5-inch which produces a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Just like most of the Samsung smartphones, this one comes with a super AMOLED screen too. This allows the phone to have Samsung’s always-on display.

The Samsung Galaxy C8 packs in a dual-camera setup on the rear. The setup consists of a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and another 5-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.9. Even for selfies, the phone has a 16-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/1.9.

Talking of additional camera features, Samsung has also provided a Dual Photo mode which will let users adjust the focus/blur of the image even after the picture is clicked. Even the front camera in the phone can be used to unlock the phone as it comes with facial recognition feature.

Performance, Storage and Battery

Under the hood, the Galaxy C8 stocks an octa-core processor where four cores will be clocked at 1.69GHz and the remaining four cores clocked at 2.39GHz. There will be two RAM variants of the phone, a 3GB and another 4GB model. Both the models come with 32GB and 64GB storage respectively. However, storage can easily be increased up to 256GB by the microSD slot provided in the phone. It has a hybrid slot which will allow you to use either extra storage or an extra SIM at a single time.

The phone runs on Android Nougat along with Samsung Experience UI as a custom skin. On the battery front, the phone seems quite decent as it has a 3000mAh battery pack.

Pricing and Availability

As mentioned earlier, Samsung has just revealed the specifications about the phone. Its pricing as well as availability will be disclosed in the coming days. While announcing the price and availability, Samsung might also provide details regarding the phone’s launch in other countries including India.
