The Samsung Galaxy F22 has appeared on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website. It is listed with model number SM-E225F/DS. This indicates that the smartphone could launch in the country in the near future.
The Galaxy F22 is expected to be the fourth device in the F-series after the Galaxy F62, F02s and F12. Earlier this month, a Twitter user had reported that the Galaxy F22 was in development. The upcoming offering is rumoured to be a rebranded Galaxy A22, however, the latter hasn’t been launched yet.
The BIS certification of the Samsung Galaxy F22 doesn’t reveal any key specifications of the smartphone apart from the model number.
According to a report by SamMobile, the Galaxy F22 could be based on the Galaxy A22. This isn’t surprising since the F-series phones are rebadged versions of Galaxy A or Galaxy M series phones. The Galaxy A22 is tipped to arrive in 4G and 5G variants. Notably, the latter was also certified by BIS. We assume that the Galaxy A22 4G could debut as the Galaxy F22 in India. It’s worth noting that Samsung is yet to officially announce anything about the Galaxy F22 and Galaxy A22 smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy A22 4G specifications and features (expected)
The Galaxy A22 4G is expected to arrive with a 6.4-inch HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. As per leaked renders, the smartphone has a square camera module housing 48MP + 5MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors. The Geekbench listing of Galaxy A22 4G revealed that the device will be powered by a Helio G80 processor. It will be paired with 6GB RAM onboard and run Android 11 out of the box. If the Galaxy F22 is indeed a rebranded version of the Galaxy A22 4G, we can expect it to pack similar specs.
