Samsung Galaxy Fold India launch date is reportedly set for October 1st

Samsung seems to be all set to launch its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, in India soon. Citing some “highly placed sources”, IANS has reported that the South Korean tech giant will be releasing the smartphone in India at an event on October 1st. If the report is correct, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will launch as the first foldable handset in India. The handset was recently re-launched after the company fixed the issues related to the screen and build quality.

To recap, the Galaxy Fold sports a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display on the inside and a smaller 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED screen on the outside. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor, which is aided by Adreno 640 graphics. The smartphone comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of native storage. The software-side of the things are handled by Android 9 Pie with the brand’s new OneUI on top.

In the camera department, there’s a triple camera setup at the rear consisting of a 12MP main lens, 12MP telephoto camera and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. On the inside, there’s are a 10MP main camera and an 8MP secondary snapper for selfies and video calling. Notably, there’s an additional 10MP camera above the smaller display on the outside of the screen. The connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5l0, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS. A 4,380mAh battery with fast charging support in both wired and wireless modes complete the list of the specs.

Samsung hasn’t yet officially revealed the pricing of the Galaxy Fold. However, the rumour mill indicates that it could be priced between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1.75 lakh. We should have more details in a matter of week, so stay tuned to Pricebaba for regular updates.
