The Samsung Galaxy Fold was relaunched with design changes at the beginning of September, after reports of initial review sustaining damage. Samsung’s first foldable phone has now finally been launched at India, with an expected hefty price tag.

The Galaxy Fold comes with an outer display measuring 4.6 inches. It offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,680 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. When folded, the device measures 160.9 x 62.9 x 15.5mm. The device can be opened like a book to view its larger foldable AMOLED display of 7.3 inches that produces a resolution of 1,536 x 2,152 pixels. When unfolded, the device measures 160.9 x 117.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 263 grams. The relaunched Galaxy Fold comes with a reinforced hinge and the company has reduced the gap between the body and hinge that previously accumulated debris.
The One UI based Android 9 Pie runs on the device. The South Korean company has collaborated with Google and the developer community for optimisation of all the popular apps like WhatsApp, Microsoft Office, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and so on. The App Continuity feature allows the app running on the cover display to transform into a bigger app for the large-sized inner display. User can view three apps side by side on the large screen. The Snapdragon 855 flagship chipset from Qualcomm drives the Galaxy Fold with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. There is no microSD card slot for expansion.
The rear of the Galaxy Fold has a triple camera setup that includes an OIS-assisted 12-megapixel wide-angle and 12-megapixel telephoto lenses, and an ultrawide lens of 16-megapixels with 2x optical zoom. Above the cover display is a 10-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. The same lens along with an 8-megapixel depth sensor is available at the top-right of the inner display. The Galaxy Fold comes with dual batteries that offer a combined capacity of 4,380mAh. The foldable device comes with support for 15W fast charging, 15W wireless charging and 9W reverse charging. Lastly, the device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Samsung Galaxy Fold price in India
The Galaxy Fold with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage has arrived with a price tag of Rs. 1,64,999 in India. The pre-booking of the device starts from October 4th, with delivery commencing from October 20th. Samsung is offering special customer service which includes 24 x 7 online support with a dedicated expert, one-year accidental damage protection and “white glove” delivery of the device.
