Samsung Galaxy J2 is a popular budget offering by the South Korean giant. This year’s refreshed variant is named as Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) and is priced at Rs. 8,190. One of the major highlights of this phone is a feature called as Visual Search. It allows you to search for a product on various e-commerce sites by clicking a picture or uploading it from your phone gallery. The phone will be available for purchase starting today i.e April 27, 2017.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) rocks a 5-inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Being a Samsung device, it does comes with a Super AMOLED panel which ensures vibrant colours and deeper blacks. The J2 is offered in three colour variants: Gold, Pink and Black.
The device gets an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel sensor on the front. Both of the sensors are supported by an LED flash for clicking better low-light pictures.
Talking of the performance, the phone runs on the 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset which is a quad-core processor. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and gets 16GB of internal storage. You can further increase the storage capacity externally with the help of a microSD card up to 256GB. The device gets Android 7.1 Nougat but is skinned with the brand’s heavy custom Samsung Experience OS.
Apart from the Visual Search mentioned above, the J2 is bundled with a couple of more useful software features. There’s a tool called as ‘Device Maintenance’ that helps you optimize your phone’s performance. The Samsung phone also offers a feature known as ‘Move to memory card’ which allows you to automatically save files in the memory card instead of internal storage. It also comes pre-loaded with Samsung Mall, which is a store for purchasing Samsung products.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) comes with a below average 2600mAh battery which would barely last you a day on normal usage. It has got all the basic connectivity options covered including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a Micro-USB port for charging.
