Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android Go Phone Launched for Rs. 6,190

After months of leaks, Samsung has finally introduced its first Android Go smartphone – the Galaxy J2 Core. The South Korean tech giant had revealed the specifications of the J2 Core in the last week, but it is only today that the company has confirmed on the arrival of the smartphone. Here is all the information available on the newly announced Galaxy J2 Core Android Go phone.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Specifications and Features

The Galaxy J2 Core that sports a polycarbonate body that measures 143.4 x 72.1 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 154 grams. The handset can be bought in colors like black, blue and gold.

The handset is fitted with a 5-inch PLS TF LCD screen that produces qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The Exynos 7570 SoC that features 1.4 GHz quad-core processor is ticking inside the smartphone along with 1 GB of RAM. The handset includes an internal storage of 8 GB out of which 4.9 GB is available for user. There is a microSD card slot on the J2 Core for additional storage.


The handset comes preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo (Android Go version). The official website of the phone claims that the Go apps available on the phone loads faster. There is a Smart Manager on the phone that directly installs new apps on the memory card. The back panel of the phone features an f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. The rear camera supports autofocus and full HD video recording. There is a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture on the handset.

The connectivity features that are available on the Galaxy J2 Core include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. Lastly, the handset is fueled by a removable battery of 2,600mAh capacity that offers 3G talk time of up to 18 hours and up to 11 hour of video playback on YouTube.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy J2 Core has arrived in India with an affordable price tag of Rs. 6,190. Starting from today, the handset will be available through retail outlets across the country. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the other markets that will be receiving the Samsung’s first Android Go phone.
