Samsung is trying to gain its foothold in the budget price range in India. To achieve that, the company has launched yet another budget phone, the Samsung Galaxy J4. It starts from Rs. 9,990 and comes with decent specifications. The phone is already available through offline channels and Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom is selling the lower variant offline at Rs. 9,990.
The Samsung Galaxy J4 rocks a 5.5-inch display bearing a HD resolution. It is a Super AMOLED panel that promises vibrant colours and deeper blacks. The phone is available in three colour variants: Blue, Black and Gold.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy J4 features an Exynos 7570 processor. This is an 1.4GHz processor coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the variant you choose. For storage it has got 16GB or 32GB variants but you can expand it externally up to 256GB via a microSD. The device will also be able to make use of 15GB of cloud storage via Samsung Cloud. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo but is layered with Samsung’s own custom UI.
Coming to the cameras, there is a 13-megapixel rear sensor along with an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera which has a flash for aiding in low-light as well. A new native feature in the gallery app allows you to create a story of your images with background music. It also lets you easily share this slideshow on your social networks.
One of the major highlights of the new Galaxy J4 is that it comes with Advanced Memory Management. Samsung claims that it is a special feature made for India and it helps in saving images and media files from social media applications to the external microSD card directly. It also aids in deleting duplicate images to free up space in your phone.
There is a 3000mAh battery unit fitted in the phone that will offer a day’s battery backup with full charge. In terms of connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and a micro USB port.
The phone will also be available at online stores soon but Samsung has not officially announced a date for its online launch.
