Samsung Galaxy M series phones with Infinity V display to debut in India in January 2019: report

“The Samsung Galaxy M-series smartphone is expected to be mid-range lineup, with models having displays up to 6.4-inch in size and beefy batteries”

Samsung Galaxy M series has become among the highly anticipated lineup in the industry. The new smartphone series from the South Korean maker will reportedly replace Galaxy J and Galaxy On series. While the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, and Galaxy M30 were in the rumour mill for the past few weeks, news agency IANS has reported that another model – named Galaxy M40 – will be launched as well. The report further goes on to say that the Galaxy M series models will be making their global debut in India in January 2019.

“The launch of the M series in India, following months of R&D carried out by Samsung India, would be in line with the company’s strategy to consolidate its position among the country’s millennials,” the IANS report says.

With the upcoming Galaxy M series, Samsung will reportedly debut its Infinity V display design, featuring a slight cut-out up top to house selfie camera. If previous leaks and rumours are to be believed, the cutout looks similar to the waterdrop-style notch of OPPO F9, OnePlus 6T, and other devices. Moreover, the models are said to sport a 6.4-inch IPS display and a beefy battery, probably the largest in any Samsung device till date. Few reports have suggested a mammoth 5,000mAh cell.

As mentioned previously, this is the first time we’re hearing about the Galaxy M40 smartphone. The handset could be the most premium in the lot with better cameras, RAM, and storage options. As for the Galaxy M20, it could likely be an affordable mid-range offering with Exynos 7885 ticking at its core. The chipset is rumoured to be paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage that can be further boosted by adding a microSD card.

As for the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M30, there is little to no information available at the moment. We expect them to out as we inch closer to the launch event.
