Samsung Galaxy M12 to launch in India soon, 90Hz display tipped

In January, Samsung announced the Galaxy M02s, followed by the Galaxy M12 entry-level phone in February. It now appears that the South Korean company is gearing up to launch its third M-series smartphone of the year in India.

It is speculated that the upcoming M-series phone for India could be the Galaxy M12. A couple of key pieces of information on the device have appeared courtesy popular tipster Mukul Sharma. The Galaxy M12 for India will reportedly feature a high refresh rate screen and will be priced under Rs 12,000.

As per Sharma, the Galaxy M12 will have a 90Hz display in India. Hence, it appears that it could be arriving as the most affordable 90Hz display phone in the country. The global variant has a standard 60Hz screen.

Other features revealed by the tipster are all available on the global variant, including a ‘True’ 48-megapixel quad-camera system with ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensors, an 8nm chipset and a 6,000mAh battery.

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy M12 smartphone are already known since it went official in Vietnam earlier this month. The handset features a 6.5-inch LCD with HD+ resolution.

The Exynos 850 fuels the Galaxy M12 with 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM. The handset comes in multiple storage choices such as 32GB / 64GB / 128GB. There is a dedicated microSD card slot on the device. It boots One UI-based Android 11 OS.

The Galaxy M12 draws power from a 6,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader. At the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Its rear camera setup has a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 123-degree 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
