South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is launching a new smartphone in India next month. The company confirmed the launch of the Galaxy M40 on June 11th by posting a teaser video on its official Twitter account. The device is the fourth member of Samsung’s Galaxy M series. Samsung India even has a dedicated microsite teasing the Galaxy M40.
Coming to what we know so far, the Galaxy M40 sports an Infinity-O display with a punch hole for the front camera placed on the upper left edge. It’s similar to the punch-hole design we saw on the Galaxy S10 series. We expect the display to feature an AMOLED panel bearing FHD+ resolution. The device will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
As for the internals, the teaser confirms the presence of a Snapdragon 6xx series processor. According to previous reports, the device may be equipped with Snapdragon 675 chipset. There are no details regarding the RAM and storage configurations, but the phone is tipped to pack 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory.
The teaser also highlights the triple rear camera setup on the Galaxy M40. The details are still unclear, but there may be a 48MP main camera which is a popular trend with smartphones this year.
The Galaxy M40 is speculated to be priced at somewhere around Rs 20,000. We will have to wait and see if Samsung reveals more features about the device ahead of the official launch.
