Samsung Galaxy M40 with Snapdragon 675 Processor, 6GB of RAM Surfaces on Geekbench

Samsung’s Galaxy M-series lineup is expected to be expanded very soon with the introduction of the Galaxy M40. The upcoming mid-range smartphone from Samsung has now appeared on the Geekbench benchmark database, revealing impressive hardware specifications. If the Geekbench listing is genuine, the Galaxy M40 could prove to be a solid mid-range smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy M40 to Feature Qualcomm’s Mid-Range Snapdragon 675 Chipset

The SM-M405F Geekbench listing reveals the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor. It may be noted that Samsung uses the same chipset on the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A60 smartphones. The 11nm mid-range chipset will be paired with an impressive 6GB of RAM. As for the benchmarking scores, Galaxy M40 achieved 2,372 points in the single-core test and 6,440 points in the multi-core test. Quite clearly, the Galaxy M40 will be a significant step-up over the Galaxy M30 in terms of performance.

Galaxy M40 Geekbench

According to the latest leaks, the Galaxy M40 will be available with up to 128GB storage. It is likely that the base variant of the phone will have 64GB internal storage. The Galaxy M40 is expected to be launched in India soon, although no specific timeframe has been confirmed yet. Color options on offer may include Blue, Black, and Coral. In terms of software, the smartphone’s Wi-Fi certification confirmed that it will be running on Android 9 Pie-based One UI out of the box. The Geekbench listing now reconfirms the same.

Thanks to a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset under the hood, the Galaxy M40 may not be anywhere near as affordable as the Galaxy M30. It is possible that the Galaxy M40 will be priced closer to the Galaxy A50 in the Indian market. That would mean the top-end variant of the phone will be priced above the Rs.20,000 mark in the country. Like other M-series smartphones from Samsung, you can expect the Galaxy M40 to only be sold online.
