Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ smartphones have gone official through a launch event in the US. The Galaxy Note 9 was the only Note series phone in the year 2018. The Note 10 and Note 10+ are premium flagship phones that offer users an edge-to-edge design, impressive display, pro-grade cameras, and improved S-Pen along with plenty of productivity tools.
Design and Display
The Galaxy Note 10+ and Note 10 boasts a sophisticated glass and metal combination design. The Note 10+ measures 151 x 71.8 x 7.9mm and weighs 168 grams, whereas the dimensions of the Note 10 are 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9mm and it weighs 196 grams. The Note 10 duo are fitted with Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O displays that feature a small hole at the top-center for housing the front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Note 10 has a 6.3-inch display that supports full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,280 pixels, whereas the Note 10+’s 6.8-inch screen offers quad HD+ resolution of 1,440 x 3,040 pixels. With slim bezels around the screen, the Note 10 offers a very high screen to body ratio. HDR10+, Dynamic Tone Mapping and Eye Comfort mode are some of the other features of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. These phones are also equipped with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint readers.
Processor, RAM and Storage
The 7nm Exynos 9825 or the 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset powers the Note 10+ and Note 10 depending on the market. The Note 10 models are equipped with vapour chamber cooling for heat dissipation. The Note 10+ features 12GB of RAM and it comes in 256GB and 512GB storage models. On the other hand, Note 10 has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is a hybrid SIM slot on the Note 10+, whereas the Note 10 lacks support for external storage.
Camera and Battery
The Galaxy Note 10+ and Note 10 are equipped with Dual Pixel autofocus enabled 10-megapixel front-facing cameras with f/2.2 aperture and an 80-degree field-of-view. The Note 10+ is fitted with a quad camera setup on its rear that comprises of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.5 to f/2.4 variable aperture support, a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 123-degree field-of-view, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS, f/2.1 aperture and 45-degree field-of-view, and a DepthVision VGA ToF sensor. By using the 3D scanner feature along with 3D ToF sensor, Note 10+ users can create 3D models of real objects. The Galaxy Note 10 houses a triple camera setup that includes the same sensors that are available on the Note 10+, minus the DepthVision lens.
The Galaxy Note 10+ has a 4,300mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. The Note 10’s 3,500mAh battery is equipped with 25W rapid charging. Both devices carry support for fast wireless charging. The Wireless PowerShare feature allow users to use Note 10+ and Note 10 as a powerbank to wirelessly charge compatible devices.
S-Pen, Software and Other Features
The Galaxy Note 10+ and Note 10 come with a redesigned S-Pen that works like a regular pen while writing. The Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) enabled S Pen allows user to control certain aspects of the smartphone through gestures. This feature is dubbed as Air Actions.
Android 9 Pie OS runs on the devices, overlaid with the latest One UI 1.1 skin from Samsung. For syncing notifications, messages and photos on a Windows 10 PC, the Note 10 models come with Link to Windows function. There is a PlayGalaxy Link for continuing a game from a computer on a phone. The other features of the Galaxy Note 10 series include stereo speakers tuned by AKG, surround sound support from Dolby Atmos technology, in-box earphones, Samsung Pay, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, ANT+, NFC, GPS and USB Type-C. The Note 10+ and Note 10 can be connected to a larger display for a full-blown desktop experience through Samsung DeX. It lacks support for a 3.5mm audio jack and hardware key for accessing Bixby assistant.
Galaxy Note 10+ 5G
Samsung also announced the Note 10+ 5G at the event. It will come only in a single variant featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but will lack a microSD card slot. The remaining specs are the same.
Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ Price in India and Availability
The Galaxy Note 10+ comes in two options – 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. It carries a starting price of Rs 79,999. The Galaxy Note 10 will come in a single version with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and it will be priced at Rs. 69,999. Both phones will be available in colours like Aura Glow, Aura Red and Aura Black.
The pre-booking of the Note 10+ and Note 10 begins today through Samsung India’s online store, Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Tata CLiQ and select retail stores in the country. The sales of the phone will begin on August 23rd.
Customers who pre-book the Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+ online or offline using HDFC bank cards will get Rs 6,000 cashback. ICICI bank card users can also avail Rs 6,000 cashback through online purchase of the smartphone. The Galaxy Watch Active is priced at Rs 19,990. However, Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ buyers in India can purchase it for a discounted price of Rs 9,999.
