Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Launched in India: Price, Specifications and Features

Samsung unveiled their highly-anticipated flagship, the Note 8 just a few days back. Today, in an event held in New Delhi, the company launched the phone for the Indian market. The Galaxy Note 8 has received a tremendous response when it comes to pre-bookings and registrations. As per a recent report, the company has received around 72,000 pre-bookings until now. In India, the number of registrations have surpassed 2.5 lakhs on Amazon and Samsung’s official website.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 India Model Features and Specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Quad HD ‘Infinity’ display which covers almost the entire front portion of the phone. The display is AMOLED which ensures sharp image quality. The phone is available in two different colours: Midnight Black, and Maple Gold. It is also IP68 certified which makes the phone dust and water resistant.

This is the first Samsung phone to come with a dual-camera setup. The dual camera setup features a 12MP wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.7 and another 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The telephoto lens can provide up to 2x optical zoom. Also, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the world’s first smartphone to come with Optical Image Stabilization in both the cameras. It comes with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.

The Galaxy Note 8 comes with a 10nm Exynos octa-core processor. For seamless performance and heavy multi-tasking, the phone packs in 6GB of RAM. On the software front, Samsung now lets you pair two frequently used apps and launch them together with a single tap. Such features ensure even faster multi-tasking. Note 8 comes with an internal storage 64GB. Along with this, a microSD slot for expandable storage is provided as well. The phone will run on a customised version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat.

It comes with the S-Pen, just like all the Note devices. Connectivity options include NFC and MST for Samsung Pay, a USB Type-C for file transfers, charging and other purposes. Fortunately, the 3.5mm headphone jack isn’t skipped. The phone also has Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Cat. 16, Wi-Fi: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac for wireless connections.

One major change for the Indian version is that Samsung’s own assistant Bixby will be optimized for the Indian market. The Galaxy S8 along with the Note 8 will now support Bixby Voice and will have the ability to understand Indian accent.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Price in India

The India variant of the Galaxy Note 8 is priced at Rs. 67,900. The phone will be available online via Amazon and Samsung’s online store. It will also be available in select offline retailers. The pre-bookings are now open and the phone will be available starting September 21st.

Samsung has also bundled some introductory offers along with the phone. Early bird users can avail a 1 time screen replacement along with a wireless charger completely free with the phone. HDFC credit card holders will get a cashback of Rs. 4000 with the purchase of the phone. Reliance Jio users can get up to 448GB additional data when they buy the Galaxy Note 8.

The company has also introduced the ‘Samsung Upgrade’ program which will let users upgrade their old Note phones and purchase the new Note 8 for a good value.
