Samsung Galaxy S10+, the flagship smartphone from 2019, is now available for Rs 39,999 in India. The Korean smartphone maker had launched three flagship S-series smartphones last year. These include the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 alongside the Galaxy S10+.
The Galaxy S10+ was the top-shelf device in the series featuring a pill-shaped cutout and triple rear camera setup. The smartphone was launched starting at Rs 73,900 but is now available with discount in the country. Read to find whether you should buy the flagship smartphone at discounted price.
Samsung Galaxy S10+ gets 49 percent discount on Amazon India
On Amazon India, the Galaxy S10+ is listed with a discount of 49 percent. The e-commerce giant has a list price of Rs 79,000 on the device but is available at discounted price of Rs 39,999. The model listed on the site comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is available in Black, White and Prism Blue colours. In addition to the discount, you can also get up to Rs 11,200 additional discount with exchange of old device.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S21 series early next year. At the time of its launch, the Galaxy S10 series will be two generations old. While the device will be old, Samsung has been working to extend shelf life of its phones with renewed software update policy. The Korean company is promising three major Android OS updates.
The Galaxy S10+ launched with Android 9 Pie and has already been updated to Android 10. It will get Android 11 and is also likely to get an Android 12 update. If you are fine with a device offering just one additional major update then the Galaxy S10+ would be a good bet.
Samsung Galaxy S10+ specifications and features
Samsung has been building some of the best looking smartphones in the flagship segment. The Galaxy S10+ is no exception. It features an aluminium frame with Corning Gorilla Glass at the front and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back. It measures 7.8mm thin and weighs 175 grams. There is a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ and resolution of 3,040 x 1,440 pixels.
The pill-shaped cutout at the top right corner offers interesting ways to customize the lockscreen. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Exynos 9820 SoC coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB expandable storage. For imaging, it sports a triple rear camera setup and dual selfie camera setup at the front.
The main camera on the back is a 12-megapixel shooter with variable aperture of f/1.5-2.4, dual pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization. It is paired with a 12-megapixel telephoto camera and a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies, there is a 10-megapixel wide angle selfie camera with dual pixel autofocus and an 8-megapixel depth sensor for portrait selfies.
Samsung Galaxy S10+ features an under display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and NFC. The smartphone is backed by a 4,100mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging, fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. It may lack high refresh rate display or super fast charging but it is a decent device year later.
