Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e Officially Unveiled; Specifications, Features and Price

After months of leaks, Samsung has finally taken the covers off the Galaxy S10 series. The Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e phones are packed with powerful specs like tall aspect ratio AMOLED displays, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint readers, triple rear cameras, powerful chipsets and up to 12GB of RAM. Here’s all the information on the specifications, features and pricing of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e models.

Display and Design

Galaxy S10+

The Galaxy S10+ is the most advanced phone in the S10 series, while the S10e is the most affordable model. The Galaxy S10+ measures 74.1 x 157.6 x 7.8mm and weighs 175 grams. The S10 is a smaller model with dimensions of 70.4 x 149.9 x 7.8mm and it weighs 157 grams.

The S10+ and S10 are equipped with 6.4-inch and 6.1-inch curved S-AMOLED Infinity-O displays respectively, with 19:9 aspect ratios and quad HD+ resolution. The S10e measures 69.9 x 142.2 x 7.9mm and weighs 150 grams. It is equipped with a flat S-AMOLED Infinity-O display with 19:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution. The S10 and S10e features a small cutout on the top-right corner of the display whereas the S10+ has a pill-shaped cutout on its display for dual front-facing cameras.

The Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 are equipped with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners that are more accurate than optical versions found on competitor phones, according to the brand. The Galaxy S10e is fitted with a power button embedded in a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Processor and Battery

Certain markets like the US, Canada and China will be receiving the 7nm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform smartphone with the Galaxy S10 series, whereas the rest of the markets will be getting the 8nm Exynos 9820 chipset edition.

The Galaxy S10e comes in 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage models. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ smartphones come in 8 GB RAM + 128 GB / 512 GB storage variants. There is a special edition version of Galaxy S10+ that comes with ceramic body. It comes with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

The Galaxy S10+ has a big battery of 4,100mAh capacity, whereas the S10 has a 3,400mAh battery. The S10e on the other hand has a 3,100mAh battery. The S10 series are equipped with fast charging technology and fast wireless charging technology. These phones also carry support for reverse wireless charging which can be used for charging other devices like the Galaxy Buds accessory. Apart from fingerprint scanners, the Galaxy S10 series also offer face unlock.

Cameras and Other Features

Galaxy S10e

The triple rear camera setup on the Galaxy S10 and S10+ smartphones feature a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, autofocus, OIS and f/2.4 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with 77-degree field of view, dual pixel autofocus, OIS and variable aperture and a fixed focus 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens with 123-degree field of view.

For capturing selfies, the Galaxy S10+ has 10-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 80-degree field of view along with a fixed focus RGB sensor of 8-megapixels with f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree field of view. The Galaxy S10 has a single front-facing camera of 10-megapixels that is borrowed from the S10+.

The Galaxy S10e is equipped with a dual camera setup that includes the same 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor available on the S10 and S10+. Like the Galaxy S10, the S10e features a 10-megapixel front shooter.

The Galaxy S10 series are loaded with Android 9 Pie that is flavored with Samsung’s One UI. The connectivity features available on the S10 models include a microSD card slot, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 4 x 4 MIMO, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e Price and Release Date

All three Galaxy S10 models will be available in Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue, Canary Yellow and Flamingo Pink colours. Additionally, the Galaxy S10+ will be available in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White models.

As for the pricing, the Galaxy S10 will start at $899.99 (~Rs. 63,800), Galaxy S10+ at $999.99 (~Rs. 70,900) and Galaxy S10e at $749.99 (~Rs. 53,200). While the pre-orders for the phones will begin from February 21st, sales will begin on March 8th in select markets. For a limited period, Samsung will bundle a pair of Galaxy Buds with pre-orders of the Galaxy S10 and S10+.
