Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G receives BIS certification, spotted on Samsung India support page

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE in October last year. The Fan Edition smartphone is the cheapest device in S20 series and it arrived with 4G connectivity in India. However, other markets received a Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S20 FE with 5G support.

Now Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India. The device has received certification from BIS and also appeared on Samsung India’s support page.

The smartphone is listed on both sites with model number SM-G781B/DS. Notably, the S20 FE 4G variant’s model number is SM-G780FZBN.

The smartphone’s BIS certification and India support page listing indicates that India may get the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE as well. The device could retain the same specifications and features as the global edition, which comes with the Snapdragon 865 chipset as mentioned earlier. 

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G specifications and features

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole camera and 120Hz refresh rate. The device has a polycarbonate back panel with a rectangular camera module. It is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. 

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and 8MP telephoto unit. In the front, the smartphone has a 32MP selfie snapper. 

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset. The processor is paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. The device is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The smartphone ships with OneUI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box.
