Samsung Galaxy S21 FE launch delayed to January 2022: report

  • Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy S21 FE in January 2021
  • The company’s flagship S22 series launch is pushed back by a month unlike its predecessor that debuted this January
  • Meanwhile, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available at a massive discount in India

Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition is tipped to launch in January 2022. On the other hand, the South Korean brand’s flagship Galaxy S22 series is reportedly delayed to February. Alternatively, it may debut before MWC 2022 that begins at the end of the month. The latest news comes from SamMobile.

SamMobile says that the launch of Galaxy S21 FE in January would give the South Korean brand an additional month to unveil the Galaxy S22 lineup. It doesn’t make sense for Samsung to debut both the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy S22 series at the same time. The Galaxy S21 was announced in January this year. With the next-generation Galaxy S22, Samsung might go back to following its tradition of launching its flagship non-foldable offering in February which usually happens ahead of MWC in Barcelona.

SamMobile also reports that the Galaxy S21 FE might be available in limited quantities at launch. The global chip shortage is said to be the main reason behind the delay in the smartphone’s launch. The Galaxy S21 FE might hit the shelves in certain markets in January while other countries may have to wait longer.

The Galaxy S21 FE will debut as the successor to last year’s Galaxy S20 FE. The smartphone’s leaked renders reveal an S21-like camera module and a polycarbonate rear panel. The device is expected to feature a 6.5-inch centre-aligned AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB native storage.
