Samsung Galaxy S21 series launch date tipped: it’s sooner than you think

Samsung follows the tradition of launching its flagship S-series smartphones in February. Now according to a new report, the South Korean brand is expected to unveil its next-generation Galaxy S21 series on January 14th, which seems to be earlier than usual. The information comes from tipster Jon Prosser.

In his tweet, Prosser has also revealed that the Galaxy S21 series will be announced and go on pre-order on the same date i.e. January 14th, while shipments will commence two weeks later from January 29th. The upcoming Galaxy S21 lineup is also tipped to arrive in Black, White, Grey, Silver, Violet and Pink colours. 

The upcoming Galaxy S21 lineup will consist of the standard Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. According to reports, Samsung has already started mass-production of the S21 series at its plants in Vietnam, South Korea, Indonesia and Brazil. Samsung is also rumoured to follow Apple’s footsteps by ditching the in-box charger and earphones with the Galaxy S21.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to pack significant upgrades over its predecessor

According to CAD-based renders, the Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra will retain Infinity-O AMOLED displays from their predecessors with an integrated fingerprint scanner from its predecessors. The former will feature a flat-screen while the latter will come with curved edges.

The renders reveal a redesigned camera module on both smartphones that extends out from the side of the frame. The standard Galaxy S21 has triple cameras while the S21 Ultra houses quad-camera setup. The latter is expected to feature a 108MP main camera with two telephoto or periscope sensors. 

Apart from this, the renders don’t reveal many details. The upcoming Galaxy S21 series will be powered by flagship processors and may come with upgraded cameras, screen refresh rate and battery compared to its predecessors. The Galaxy S21 series is also rumoured to arrive with S-pen stylus support. 

With just two months to go, we expect more information to surface on the upcoming Galaxy S21 series in the coming weeks.
