Today, Samsung held a global launch to announce the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra flagship smartphones in various markets including India. The South Korean company been launching its Galaxy S-series of flagship phones in February for the past few years. However, this year it has decided to launch the S21 lineup a month earlier than before.

The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones have arrived with a refreshed rear panel design. As can be seen in the official renders, the camera module is fused with the frame of the device, which gives it a sophisticated look. Like the Galaxy S20 series, the S21 models are packed with top-notch specifications and features. In addition, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first S-series smartphone from the brand that comes with support for the S-Pen stylus.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy S21+ 5G are fitted with a 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x displays with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1,300 nits brightness, HDR10+, and an adaptive refresh rate of 48Hz to 120Hz. While the Galaxy S20 series featured curved edge displays with Quad HD+ resolution, this year the company has decided to offer flat displays on the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ models with Full HD+ resolution.

Markets like India and Europe have received the Exynos 2100 chipset version of the Galaxy S21 lineup. Other regions like the US, South Korea and Canada get the Snapdragon 888 variant of the S21 models. The S21 and S21 Plus models are packed with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Both models lack support for a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S21 5G is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, whereas the S21+ 5G is backed by a 4,800mAh unit. Both phones carry support for 25W fast charging, 15Wwireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Both smartphones have identical front and rear cameras. The S21 duo feature dual-pixel autofocus enabled 10-megapixel selfie cameras with f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera setup of both phones features a 12-megapixel main camera with dual-pixel autofocus and OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 120-degree FOV, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with support for OIS and 3x optical hybrid zoom. Both models carry support for 8K video recording at 30fps and 30X Space Zoom.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X curved edge display with an Infinity-O design. It produces QHD+ resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 515ppi pixel density, and an adaptive refresh rate of 10Hz to 120Hz.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra also comes in Exynos 2100 / Snapdragon 888 CPU editions depending on the market. It comes with 12GB / 16GB of LPPDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options such as 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It is the only phone in the series to arrive with a microSD card slot. The device houses a massive 5,000mAh battery that comes with support for 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G sports a 40-megapixel dual-pixel autofocus enabled selfie camera. The quad-camera system of the smartphone has a 108-megapixel primary camera with OIS and dual-pixel autofocus support, 12-megapixel dual-pixel autofocus enabled ultrawide lens with 120-degree FOV, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with support for dual-pixel autofocus support, 3x optical zoom, and OIS, and lastly, another 10-megapixel lens with support for dual-pixel autofocus, 10x optical zoom, and OIS. The Galaxy S21 Ultra also supports 30fps 8K video recording, laser autofocus, and 100X Space Zoom.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G has a plastic rear, whereas the S21+ 5G and S21 Ultra 5G have a glass rear. These phones come with an IP68 rated dustproof and water-resistant chassis. In the front, these models are fitted with Gorilla Glass 7 for top-notch protection. The Galaxy S21 series come preinstalled with One UI 3.1 based on Android 11. The S21 trio are packed with various other features like dual SIM, e-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader, face recognition, Knox, DeX desktop mode, and stereo speakers.

Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra price in India, launch offers

The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variants of the Galaxy S21 are priced at Rs 69,999 and Rs 73,999, respectively. They can be bought in hues such as Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Purple, and Phantom Pink. The same variants of the Galaxy S21+ are priced at Rs 81,999 and Rs 85,999, respectively and they can be purchased in colours such as Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Purple.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variants are priced at Rs 1,05,999 and Rs 1,16,999, respectively. It comes in colours such as Phantom Black and Phantom Silver. The retail packages of the Galaxy S21 models do not include a power adapter and AKG earphones.

The pre-orders of the Galaxy S21 series begin at 12 am on January 15th. Those who pre-order the devices will receive a Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and a Samsung shop voucher of up to Rs 10,000. The latter can be redeemed for a Galaxy Watch 2 or a combo of Galaxy Buds+ and travel adapter.

The pre-order offers also include a cashback from HDFC bank of Rs 5,000, Rs 7,000, and Rs 10,000 for the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, respectively. An additional bonus of up to Rs 5,000 through the Samsung Upgrade plan is also available.

Customers who pre-order the devices will receive their units earlier starting on January 25th. The S21 models will go on open sale from January 29th through multiple platforms such as Samsung India’s online shop, Samsung Opera House, retail stores, Croma, Reliance Digital, Amazon India, and Flipkart.
