Samsung Galaxy S22 series launch date has been reportedly confirmed by Samsung, according to South Korean publication DDaily. Last year’s S-series lineup included three models such as the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Reports have revealed that the forthcoming S22 lineup will also comprise of three devices such as Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Depending on the region, these models will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200 chipset. The S22 models are expected to offer users up to QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, up to 108-megapixel quad cameras, and larger batteries with fast charging support.

According to the Korean publication, a Samsung Electronics official said that the company will be holding its next Galaxy Unpacked event on February 8th, 2022. He added that the company is discussing sending out the launch invites for the event by the end of January.

The official said that the pre-orders of the Galaxy S22 series will begin on February 9th and its sales will begin on February 24th. The S22 lineup is expected to get showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 tech trade show, which will be held by the end of February.

Reports have revealed that the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra will be equipped with a 6.06-inch, 6.55-inch, and 6.81-inch AMOLED display, respectively. The former two devices may support FHD+ resolution, while the Ultra variant may offer Quad HD+ resolution. All three devices are expected to arrive with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ may feature a 50-megapixel (main) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 10-megapixel (telephoto) camera, whereas the S22 Ultra may get a 108-megapixel (main) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 10-megapixel (telephoto) + 10-megapixel (periscope telephoto) quad-camera unit. The trio may feature a 10-megapixel front-facing camera.

The S22 series will run on One UI 4 flavoured Android 12 OS. It will offer up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra may feature a 4,000mAh, a 4,800mAh, and a 5,000mAh battery, respectively. These devices may come with support for up to 45W fast charging. The Ultra model is expected to feature a dedicated slot for storing an S-Pen stylus.
