Samsung Galaxy S22 series has been announced through this year’s first Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9th, 2022. The event witnessed the arrival of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones as the successors for last year’s Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra flagships.
Like last year, Samsung has introduced three models as part of its S22 lineup. Depending on the market, the Galaxy S22 lineup will be available with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2200 SoC. While the S21 Ultra debuted as the first Galaxy S-series with S Pen support, the Galaxy S22 series will be the first Snapdragon-powered flagship from the brand in India.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series: sale date in India
The sales of the Galaxy S22 series could be impacted due to ongoing supply chain issues. According to well-known tipster Jon Prosser, while the S22 Ultra will go on sale from February 25th, 2022, the S22 and S22 Plus will go on sale a bit later on March 11th, 2022. There is no specific information on the S22 series sale date for the Indian market yet.

The Galaxy S22 features a 6.1-inch display, whereas the Galaxy S22 Plus comes with a 6.6-inch screen. The Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with Infinity-O design on both devices may offer features like a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, 10Hz – 120Hz variable refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra flaunts a larger 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an Infinity-O Edge design. It offers a Quad HD+ resolution of 3,080 x 1,440 pixels, 1Hz – 120Hz variable refresh rate, 1,750 nits of peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus comes in colours like Phantom Black, White, Pink Gold, and Green. On the other hand, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available in hues such as Phantom Black, White, Burgundy, and Green.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature a 10-megapixel selfie camera with dual-pixel autofocus (2PD). Their rear-facing triple camera unit comprises a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support and 2PD, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 120-degree FOV, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS support.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra arrives with an autofocus-enabled 40-megapixel front-facing camera. Its quad-camera unit includes a 108-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 120-degree FOV, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 10-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. All four lenses support 2PD and they also support OIS (except ultrawide lens).

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset variant of the Galaxy S22 lineup will be available in markets like North America, South America, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. The Exynos 2200 chipset-powered S22 lineup will be available in Europe. Other markets like West Asia, Middle East Asia, and Africa will get Snapdragon as well as Exynos editions of the S22 lineup.
The Galaxy S22 trio ship with up to LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It boots Android 12 OS, which is overlaid with One UI 4.2. The S22 has a 3,700mAh battery, the S22+ houses a 4,500mAh battery, and the S22 Ultra is packed with a larger 5,000mAh battery. The S22 series supports up to 45W fast charging. It also offers wireless charging and reverses wireless charging (aka. Wireless PowerShare).
