In the blog post, Dr. Tom Roh further said, “We know many of you were surprised when Samsung didn’t release a new Galaxy Note last year. You loved the unparalleled creativity and efficiency of the Galaxy Note series, which enabled you to switch from gaming nirvana to high-octane productivity in the blink of an eye. You raved about the lifelike S Pen, which many say rivals putting ink to paper. And we haven’t forgotten about these experiences you love.” He added, “we’ll introduce you the most noteworthy S series device we’ve created.”

Roh’s words suggest that the rumoured Galaxy S22 Ultra could be the spiritual successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which debuted back in 2019. Last year’s Galaxy S21 Ultra was the first S-series phone from Samsung to arrive with an S-Pen stylus. Unlike the Note series models, the S21 Ultra did not feature a dedicated slot for storing the stylus. However, rumours surrounding the S22 Ultra have claimed that it will feature a dedicated slot to secure the stylus. The above leaked poster from tipster Ice Universe shows the rumoured Galaxy S22 Ultra in burgundy colour.

The S22 and S22+ are expected to arrive with an almost identical design. It is also speculated that the Galaxy Tab S8 series powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will be announced alongside the S22 lineup. The Tab S8 lineup is expected to include three flagship tablets such as Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra.

The S22 and S22+ will support an FHD+ resolution, whereas the Ultra model will support a Quad HD+ resolution. The AMOLED panels of the S22 lineup are expected to offer a peak brightness of 1,750nits.

The S22 series is likely to run on Android 12 OS, with One UI 4.x on top. Depending on the region, the S22 models will be available with either Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 chipset. The lineup will come with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
