Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be the first to feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The press release rolled out by Corning does not explicitly state that the S23 will feature the GV2. Since the company has unveiled its latest toughened just before the Galaxy S23 Unpacked event, which is set to take place on February 1st, 2023, it is likely that the S23 lineup will come equipped with it.
To recall, the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra from last year were the first phones to feature the Victus+. Like the Victus+, the Victus 2 can be used to protect the front and rear sides of a phone.

Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to offer protection against drops

The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is designed to survive drops on hard and rough surfaces, such as asphalt and concrete. Corning has successfully tested its durability by dropping it from a hip height of 1 metre on concrete and a head height of 2 metres on asphalt. As it is known, concrete and asphalt are made of rock, sand, and aggregate, because of which they are rough and have jagged edges.
In addition, Corning has incorporated 22 percent pre-consumer recycled elements in the Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This has allowed it to receive an Environmental Claim Validation from Underwriters Laboratories.
The Samsung MX Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Choi said the following about the Victus 2, “We’re committed to integrating sustainability throughout our product lifecycle, working with like-minded partners such as Corning to improve performance while reducing our environmental impact. The Galaxy S23 series’ pricing for the European markets has also leaked. The leak, courtesy of tipster Roland Quandt, states that the S23 variants, such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, will be priced at €959 (Rs 85,050) and €1,019 (Rs 90,350).
The Galaxy S23+ will be available in two configurations: 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 8GB RAM + 512GB storage. Both models are likely to be priced at €1,209 (~Rs 1,08,050) and €1,329 (~Rs 1,17,800), respectively. The S23 Ultra editions, such as 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, will be priced at €1,409 (~Rs 1,24,900) and €1,589, respectively.
