Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) with Snapdragon 429 and 5,100mAh battery announced

Samsung has announced latest budget tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019). The device is the successor to the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) which was released in September.

The 8-inch display features a resolution of 800 x 1,200 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The device is 8mm thick and weighs 345 grams. It is laced with dual speakers and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 quad-core processor, clocked at 2.0GHz. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) has been launched in a single variant that sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card.

Camera-wise, the tablet features an 8MP main shooter on the back and a 2MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calling. It relies on a 5,100mAh battery which can be charged via a micro-USB port. For connectivity, it sports Wi-Fi a/b/g/n 2.4GHz/5GHz, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.0. It is also equipped with an accelerometer and light sensor. It runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It is also equipped with a new Kids Home mode which delivers a child-friendly interface. Family Share is another interesting feature that lets users share schedules, notes, photos and reminders with family members. This feature can be used by up to six members of a family.

The device has been launched in two shades – Black and Gray. On the price front, Samsung hasn’t revealed anything yet. Additionally, the tablet comes with a free subscription to YouTube Premium for two months along with a three-month free subscription to Spotify Premium.
