Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) in India today. The device was announced back in July with huge battery capacity and dual speakers. The tablet is the successor to the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) which was launched in September 2018.

As is evident from the name, the tablet features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 1,200 pixels. It weighs 345g and plays host to a set of speakers. For performance, it relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card.
In the optics department, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) sports an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera. For connectivity, the tablet features support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.0. It houses a 5,100mAh battery that’s charged via microUSB. An accelerometer and light sensor are also included in the package. The Kids Home mode helps in keeping the interface child-friendly, allowing parents to set the playtime and allowed apps/media. Apps like My Art Studio, Crocro Adventure and more are also present for children. The device runs Android 9.0 Pie and features a premium metallic design with two shades – black and grey.

The tablet has been launched in two variants – Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + LTE. The former is priced at Rs 9,999 and will be available for pre-booking from August 8th on Flipkart and Samsung’s online store. The Wi-Fi + LTE version will cost Rs 11,999 and will be available across selected offline and online channels by the end of this month.
