Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T865) Passes Through the US FCC

Update [July 26, 2019]: The upcoming Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T865) has now been spotted on the FCC website. Unfortunately, the FCC filings do not shed any light on the hardware specifications of the tablet.

It has recently come to light that Samsung will be skipping the Galaxy Tab S5 moniker entirely for its flagship lineup this year and instead opting for a Galaxy Tab S6 brand name. Well, we’ve now found the electronic slate on the Bluetooth SIG website today. Last week, detailed information and leaked images of the tablet broke out last week and the Tab S6 will replace the Tab S4 as Samsung’s premier flagship tablet. Reports suggest that Samsung will be marketing the unreleased tablet as a desktop replacement because of the DeX feature and an all-new S-Pen.

Coming back to the Bluetooth SIG listing, the Galaxy Tab S6 appears with the model number SM-T865 and has Bluetooth 5.0 on board. The publish date for the certificate is 10th July 2019 which was yesterday. Speculation is rife that Samsung could release the tablet around the same time as the Galaxy Note 10 launch. And if that’s true than we should see the same model number appear on other certification portals such as the FCC and Wi-Fi Alliance sooner rather than later.

Based on previous leaks, the Galaxy Tab S6 will unsurprisingly boast a Snapdragon 855 SoC. It’s also going to have an in-screen fingerprint reader although we don’t know if it will be an ultrasonic sensor or an optic version. It’s also being said that the display will be an AMOLED panel but the exact size of the display isn’t known yet. Samsung will also be endowing the Tab S6 with a dual rear camera setup very rarely seen on tablets, as per a leaked image. It will be composed of a 13MP primary sensor and a 5MP ultra-wide sensor while the selfie shooter will be an 8MP snapper. It’s worth reminding that these are leaked specifications and not official ones so there’s always the possibility of a margin of error in it.

In terms of variants, word is that we could see a 128GB and 256GB model with microSD options upto 512GB.
