Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Watch 6 Classic spotted in Google Play Supported Devices list before July launch

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to launch by the end of July through Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event. The lineup will include two models, the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Both smartwatches are expected to come in Bluetooth and LTE versions.

The Galaxy Watch 6 series has been recently spotted at certification platforms like the FCC, NBTC (Thailand), and Bluetooth SIG. Now, both models have appeared in the list of Google Supported Devices since they will run on One UI Watch-based WearOS. Here is a look at the details that have surfaced through the latest developments.

As can be seen in the above screenshot, the Galaxy Watch 6 40mm variant has appeared with the codename “fresh6bs” and model number SM-R930 in the database of Google Supported Devices, whereas its 44mm model has been spotted with the codename “fresh6bl” and model number SM-R940.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 43mm variant has appeared with the codename “wise6bs” and model number SM-R950 on the list of Google Supported Devices, whereas its 47mm edition has appeared with the codename “wise6bl” and model number SM-R960. Apart from these details, the new listings have no information on the specifications of the Watch 6 series.

Reports have claimed that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will have a 1.47-inch AMOLED display that offer 470 x 470 pixels resolution. There is no accurate information on the display size of the Watch 6. However, both models are expected to bring the physical rotating bezel, which was last seen on the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

Both smartwatches will feature the Exynos W930 chipset and run on WearOS with Samsung’s One UI Watch overlay. The Watch 6 may pack a 300mAh battery, whereas the Classic variant may house a 425mAh battery. Both devices may support at least 10W charging and wireless charging. On the connectivity front, the lineup will offer features like Bluetooth, Wi-fi, NFC, and GNSS.

As per a recent leak by Dealabs, the Galaxy Watch 6 series will be priced as follows:

  • 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 (Bluetooth): €319
  • 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 (LTE): €369
  • 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 (Bluetooth): €349
  • 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 (LTE): €399
  • 43mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (Bluetooth): €419
  • 43mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (LTE): €469
  • 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (Bluetooth): €449
  • 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (LTE): $499

The Galaxy Watch 6 40mm will come in Graphite and Cream shades, whereas its 44mm variant will be available in Graphite and Silver. On the other hand, the 43mm and 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be available in Black and Silver options. At present, there is no information available on the prices of the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic for the Indian market.

Rumours are rife that Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on June 27th, 2023, in Seoul, South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series are also expected to release through the same event.
