Today, Samsung has brought its Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Fit and Fit e fitness trackers to Indian markets. The wearables were announced back in February this year. The three devices have been launched across various price points and are targeted at millennials and Gen Z, according to Samsung. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications and features below:
Galaxy Watch Active:
The Galaxy Watch Active is a stylish sports smartwatch with a minimal design. The device comes with interchangeable straps in four colour options – Silver, Black, Rose Gold and Sea Green. The Galaxy Watch Active features a 1.1-inch AMOLED colour display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 on the top.
Coming to the health and wellness features, the Galaxy Watch Active offers exercise, sleep, and stress tracking features. It is equipped with Blood Pressure monitoring through the My BP Lab app. The stress tracker feature helps users keep their stress level in check and also offers breathing exercises to stay calm. The Galaxy Watch Active is capable of auto-detecting physical activities like running, biking, rowing, elliptical training, or dynamic workouts. Users can also set goals and monitor their progress by manually enabling in more than 39 activities.
On the hardware front, the Galaxy Watch Active is equipped with an Exynos 9110 dual-core chipset coupled with 768MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It runs Tizen Wearable OS 4.0 and comes with third-party apps like Under Armour, Spotify and Starva. The smartwatch is compatible with Android and iOS devices running on Android 5 and iOS 9.0 or above. It features Bixby integration enabling the user to make calls or send messages without picking up the phone.
The Galaxy Watch Active is backed by a 230mAh battery with support for WPC-based wireless charging. The smartwatch is durable with up to an 5ATM + IP68 rating and MIL-STD-810G certification.
Galaxy Fit and Fit e:
The Galaxy Fit and Fit e are aimed at fitness enthusiasts, with the latter being the more affordable option among the two.
The Galaxy Fit comes with a 0.95-inch full-colour AMOLED display while the Fit e has a PMOLED display measuring 0.76-inches. Both the trackers offer touch screen functionality and are water resistant up to 5ATM. They are also equipped with MIL-STD 810G certification that can withstand harsh conditions. The Galaxy Fit can be availed in Black and Silver colours while the Fit e is available in Black, White, and Yellow colour choices.
Like the Galaxy Watch Active, the fitness trackers can also track physical activities automatically. Users get access to 90 different activities in the Samsung Health app on their smartphone and the chosen workout can be tracked automatically on the Fit and Fit e. Both the Galaxy Fit and Fit e are equipped with heart rate monitoring, sleep analysis, and smart stress management.
Apart from health features, the Galaxy Fit and Fit e also display all app-based notifications and information synced from the user’s smartphone. The Galaxy Fit is powered by a 120mAh battery unit with support for NFC wireless charging while the Fit e is backed by a 70mAh battery and can be charged via a POGO connector. Both the devices run Realtime OS and offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Galaxy Fitness trackers are compatible with Android and iOS devices running on Android 5.0 and iOS 9.0 or above.
Pricing & Availability:
The Galaxy Watch Active has been priced at Rs 19,900. The Galaxy Fit and Fit e carry a price tag of Rs 9,900 and Rs 2,590 respectively.
Samsung’s latest wearable lineup will be available across all retail stores, Samsung e-shop and Samsung Opera House starting June 25th. The Watch Active will also be available on Amazon while the Galaxy Fit will be available on Flipkart and Myntra. Buyers can pre-book the Fit e starting July 1st on Flipkart with sales commencing from July 5th on Flipkart, Myntra and Samsung e-shop. The Galaxy Fit e will be available for purchase on Flipkart, Myntra and Samsung e-shop till July 19th, after which it will be available in select offline stores as well.
