Samsung has expanded its product ecosystem in India today with the launch of much-awaited flagship tablet called the Galaxy Tab S6 and two new smartwatches. The South Korean brand has introduced the latest Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Watch LTE in India. Of these two, the former is the successor to the Galaxy Watch Active and the latter is Samsung’s first-ever eSIM enabled watch. Let’s take a look at what these wearables bring to the table.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 comes with a circular 44mm dial with the signature rotating bezel, but this time around its digital in nature. This means that there is no longer a physical rotating bezel but an edge-based gesture that now navigates through the smartwatch’s menus and lists just like the physical rotary bezel. The device features a 1.4-inch circular Super AMOLED display with 360 x 360 pixels screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection. The smartwatch features a 1.15Ghz dual-core Exynos 9110 chipset and the all-new OneUI for a better navigation experience.
The fitness features on the Galaxy Watch Active2 include 39 physical activity trackers with seven of them being tracked automatically. These include running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine, elliptical machine and
dynamic workouts. There is a refreshed Running Coach, which can be used to monitor the running pace in real-time and set goals using different running programs. The watch also features Samsung’s Health App that can be used to monitor stress level and sleep monitoring. Samsung claims that the sensors on the back of the wearable have been improved to take readings faster for real-time tracking.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 connects with your phone using Bluetooth and can be used to make/receive calls, listen to music on Spotify, take photos, switch between front and rear camera, set a timer, see previews and more from the watch. Other features include 5ATM + IP68 / MIL-STD-810G durability rating, 340mAh battery and wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active LTE is being offered in two dial sizes – 46mm and 42mm, which are equipped with 1.3-inch and 1.2-inch Super AMOLED displays with similar features as that of Watch Active2. Additionally, the former has 472mAh battery and the latter has a 270mAh unit. The remaining features of the Galaxy Watch LTE are the same as that of the Galaxy Watch Active2, except for the LTE connectivity. As mentioned above, the wearable features eSIM connectivity and lets users answer calls, respond to text messages, use GPS mapping, stream music and more, independent of a smartphone.
Additionally, the watch has features like a daily assistant, downloadable apps, GPS, Samsung Pay with NFC and Home IoT to stay connected to appliances and devices in your Samsung ecosystem.
Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE and Galaxy Watch Active2 price in India
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 is being offered in 2 materials – stainless steel and aluminium, which will retail for Rs 31,990 and Rs 26,990, respectively. In steel, users will have the option to choose from silver, black and gold hues, while the aluminium model will be available in black, rose gold and cloud silver finish. The Galaxy Watch LTE will set you back by Rs 30,990 and Rs 28,490 for 46mm and 42mm respectively. The watches will go on sale starting October 11th and will be available from offline channels, Samsung Opera House, Samsung e-shop and leading online portals.
