Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro specifications and renders leaked, expected to launch next month

In December 2019, a Samsung smartphone with the Galaxy XCover Pro moniker and SM-G715F model number was spotted at the database of Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance. These listings suggested that the smartphone will be announced soon. Today, German publication has revealed the complete specifications of the Galaxy XCover Pro rugged smartphone along with its press render. Like the other XCover phones from Samsung, the XCover Pro is also a rugged smartphone. The handset is packed with interesting mid-range specs and is slated to arrive in Europe in the coming month.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro is expected to debut next month

The Galaxy XCover Pro has a sturdy plastic body and it carries with IP68 certification. This ensures that the nearly 10mm thick smartphone is designed to withstand damage from water, dust, impact and shocks. The XCover Pro weighs over 200 grams and is fitted a 6.3-inch punch-hole display. The LCD screen supports 1080 x 2400 pixels full HD+ resolution and offers an aspect ratio of 20:9. Its bezels are thinner than the previous XCover series smartphones.

Samsung has powered the XCover Pro with its own 2.0GHz Exynos 9611 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. The phone offers users 64GB of storage. The publication claims that it is unsure whether the phone carries an external storage slot. The smartphone boots to Android 10 overlaid with Samsung’s latest One UI 2.0 skin.

The Galaxy XCover Pro draws power from a removable 4,020mAh battery. It is equipped with fast charging support. The handset sports a front 13-megapixel shooter. The rear panel of the phone features an LED assisted dual camera system that includes a 25-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens.

A unique feature that is available on the XCover Pro is “Push to Talk” through a dedicated hardware button for using it as a walkie-talkie. The power button of the device is embedded with a fingerprint reader. The other features that are available on the Galaxy XCover Pro include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C.

The Galaxy XCover Pro rugged smartphone is heading to European markets by early next month. The smartphone is expected to be priced just under €500 (~Rs 40,200). Samsung is yet to officially announce the phone and there is no confirmation yet on whether it will be made available in India.
