Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 have been launched in India at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event today. These devices have arrived as successors to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3, which were announced in August 2021. At the same event, the company took off the covers of other products, such as the Galaxy Watch 5 series and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro TWS earbuds.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has an 8-inch foldable AMOLED display and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 features a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-Flex display that produces a resolution of 2,176 x 1,812 pixels, 374ppi pixel density, and an aspect ratio of 6:5. On the outside, the Z Fold 4 has a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O cover display that offers 2,316 x 904 pixels resolution and a 23:9 aspect ratio. Both displays offer a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. As compared to the Z Fold 3, the Z Fold 4 is a shorter and wider device. The predecessor model measures 158.1 x 128.1 x 6.4mm, whereas its successor offers 155 x 130 x 7.1mm dimensions.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The device includes a 4,400mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The device offers 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage and runs on One UI 4.1.1 based Android 12L OS. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 carries support for the S Pen stylus but does not have a dedicated storage slot. The company will be offering special cases with an S Pen storage slot for the Z Fold 4 buyers.

The Z Fold 4’s foldable screen will be embedded with a 4-megapixel under-display camera. The cover display’s punch-hole houses a 10-megapixel selfie camera. The back panel of the device has a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree FOV, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x Infinity Flex display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 2,640 x 1,080 pixels, a 425 ppi pixel density, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. The back panel of the device houses a 1.9-inch AMOLED display with support for 512 x 260 pixels resolution. The secondary screen can be used for checking notifications as well as a viewfinder while snapping selfies using the rear cameras.

The rear camera setup of the device includes an OIS-enabled 12-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and an LED flash. For selfies, it has a 10-megapixel camera on the front. The device is powered by Android 12 with the One UI 4.1.1 custom skin on top.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It draws power from a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging, 10W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are fitted with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It offers connectivity features, such as dual SIM support, eSIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, AKG-tuned dual stereo speakers, and an IPX8-rated water-resistant chassis.
