Samsung launched Galaxy Note20 series, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Buds Live last month. The brand also announced the Galaxy Z Fold2 at the same event, but the actual launch was reserved for later. The successor to the Galaxy Fold has now been officially launched through the online-exclusive Galaxy Z Fold2: Unpacked Part 2 event.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with dual Infinity-O displays
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 features a dual-display design just like its predecessor, including a cover display and a larger inner display. The cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold2 is a 6.2-inch AMOLED Infinity-O display with 60Hz refresh rate and 2,260 x 816 pixels resolution. When unfolded, there is a bigger 7.6-inch flexible Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,208 x 1,768 pixels resolution. Both displays have centred punch-hole cutouts housing 10-megapixel selfie cameras.
Ticking at the core of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. The processor is backed by 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage (there will be a 512GB variant in select markets). The smartphone boots Android-10 out of the box and is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging and 11W wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 comes with a triple camera setup on the rear panel. The camera module features an OIS-assisted 12-megapixel primary camera. The main camera is backed by a 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP telephoto lens.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 pricing and availability
The Galaxy Z Fold2 has been priced at $1,999.99 (~Rs 1,46,000) and will be made available in around 40 markets starting September 18th. Samsung is offering Galaxy Z Fold2 in two colours – Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze.
The brand has also announced a Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne Edition, which will be available for pre-order from September 1st in select markets, with sales starting September 25th. The Thom Browne package will include the special edition Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Buds Live and more accessories in Thom Browne’s iconic design. This model has been priced at $3,299 (~Rs 2,40,000).
